OK, putting aside the fact that you are relying on a 19th century American author as a source for your argument... please show me the text where Twian states that East Jerusalem was the "JEWISH quarter".

THE source? no habibi he a A source besides him there is also another well known source from NEARLY the same time as twain os Orson Hyde an early Mormon leader who went to Jerusalem to make some proclamation on the mount of olives his journal details the event and the general lay of the land and city the two unrelated accounts are from roughly the same time and paint pretty much the same picture of the holy land a century before the State of Israel even existed.......all of this is moot however israel is done trying to trade land for peace and Jerusalem is pretty much the only thing all the jewish israelis agree on that it belongs to them and as a follower of Ahman i agree (finding BOTH accounts isnt that hard its one of the founders of Mormonism and Mark freakin' Twain consult prophet google)

Can you show me a map of israel prior to 1948? No, of course you can't, because israel is a modern invention. How do you like those apple?

If you think that Palestine never esisted then you must also think that the moon is made of cheese and the earth is flat. That area has been called Palestine since the Roman times.

Then there was never a nation called Israel.

As far back as the Romans the land was called Palestine, the British legally referred to it as Palestine in the years following WW1 and before.

Next you'll tell me Scotland never was a nation and it was always ruled by someone else?

Then what did the Hebrews call it then?

Before Israel, it was a British Mandate. Before that it was owned by the Ottoman Empire. And before that it was owned by the Islamic Empire. And before that it was owned by the Byzantines. And before that it was owned by the Romans. And before that it was owned by the Hebrews. And before that it was owned by the Canaanites. Palestine was never an independent nation at any point in it's history.

In fact the Palestinian nationality is relatively recent. They didn't start calling themselves "Palestinians" until the early 20th century. Or possibly 1834. Either way the Arabs of the region did not have any concept of Palestinian nationality until Jews started moving back in.

If Israel wanted to do what you're accusing her for, why did Israel withdraw soldiers and civilians from Gaza strip? Why was Arafat offered a Palestinian state in 1967 borders? Btw, Arafat refused that proposal because Palestinians would have to form a working country, which would divert money pouring from EU and Arab countries into PLO and Hamas bank accounts to budget of the new country. After all, Israel has the power to crush West bank and Gaza strip in one week, eradicating any trace of Palestinians and had 60 years to do just that. Why then there are still Palestinians present? It's not because of Israel's fear of Arab reaction - Egyptians killed Palestinians, Jordanians killed Palestinians, Lebanese killed Palestinians.

No, I don't. Israel was more than pleased with borders set by UN in 1948. Land taken by Israel since that year in defensive wars is treated in Israel as "occupied territory". That shows you that Israel tends to return these territories in exchange for peace, as was shown with Egypt. Syria will get Golan Heights as soon as it stops supporting terrorist groups and distances itself from Iran. Arafat was offered Palestinian state in borders of 1967 in exchange for peace but he refused. All that shows me that Israel does not want to steal the land.

Did you not read the comment? Since the war in 1967 israel has continued to steal land to build new israeli settlements. they are demolishing arab homes and planning to build at least 73,000 housing units in West Bank settlements this year alone, how can that be defensive? and if they are planning on returning this land then why build these massive new settlement? there are almost half a million jewish settlers living on this occupied land.

Israel's occupation of Palestine is Illegal.
Security Council Resolution 242, Nov. 22, 1967

Israel's settlements in Palestine are Illegal.

Israel tried to uphold the most important UN resolution of all - UN partition plan of Palestine. When all those failed, Arabs can take all other UN resolutions to the toilet.

Best example that Israel plans to withdraw is withdrawal from Gaza strip. New homes were built there also but when decision came, everyone withdrew and leveled their homes down. Same will happen in West bank and on Golan Heights. It's going to be painful and it's not going to be easy, but it will be done because Israel only wants peace, just as back in 1948. Why there will be no return back to borders of 1948 or pre 1967? Because that would be rewarding terrorists and showing them that they could get even more if only they attack harder. You can't play football against terrorists who use rugby rules.

The United Nations made those resolutions not the"Arabs".

Yes they withdrew from the gaza strip but why did they not withdraw from the west bank, those are illegal settlements too.

and you are still not answering my original question about the continued expansion of illegal israeli settlemnets in the west bank?

Settlements were expanded in Gaza strip also, up to the withdrawal. I see no problem with that. It's a form of political pressure.

UN made those resolutions but since they haven't enforced their first one, all that followed had no significance. When they didn't want to help Israel, it's rather two-faced of UN to help Arabs. In 1973, when Egypt attacked Israel, where was UN? Nowhere, until Israeli troops entered Cairo. Then they've called for ceasefire.

Withdrawal from the West bank will be performed in exchange for peace. Giving terrorists something for nothing makes them bold. Just look at Gaza strip - Israel withdrew and Hamas widened their actions against Israeli civilians.

You have exposed yourself as a truly sick and ignorant individual. you believe it's acceptable to steal Palestinian land and bulldoze their homes into the ground. This is how you think peace is achieved? This is not "political pressure" it is called something completely different...it's called ETHNIC CLEANSING!!!.. do you know who else used ethnic cleansing?...NAZIS!

I hope more people read what you have written here, it truly exposes you for who you are.
